The Technical Cooperation Agreement for conducting Medical Expertise using Teleassessment (PMUT) was signed this Thursday (13) by the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Onyx Lorenzoni, and the president of INSS, Jos\u00e9 Carlos Oliveira. The measure complies with the TCU's decision regarding the fight against the pandemic.<\/p>\n

The pilot project will last 90 days. The 10 selected municipalities, with populations between 10,000 and 15,000, do not have in-person medical examinations. Residents must travel to another city to undergo the medical evaluation. Now, city hall employees will contact policyholders with scheduled medical examinations in another location so that, if they wish, they can undergo the examination remotely, via telemedicine, at the city hall's own facilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to seek technology that allows a doctor, three thousand kilometers away, to treat those in need. This is social justice, it is respect for people, it is valuing life,\u201d said Onyx Lorenzoni during the signing of the agreement. The minister also said that this is yet another government action to simplify and reduce bureaucracy in the services offered.<\/p>\n

The municipalities that signed the technical cooperation agreement to participate in the pilot project are: Francisco Morato (SP), Minas Novas (MG), Vassouras (RJ), Santo Augusto (RS), Olhos D'\u00c1gua das Flores (AL), Corrente (PI), Pedro Gomes (MS), Ji Paran\u00e1 (RO), L\u00e1brea (AM) and Botas de Maca\u00fabas (BA).<\/p>\n

The Technical Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the INSS and city governments will be formalized with the publication of an ordinance in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU).<\/p>\n
