Sa\u00fade Digital Brasil has just elected the coordinators who will lead the Clinical Protocols Working Group for the next three years. M<\/span>Antonio Viana Miguel and Flavio Tocci take on the role of coordinator and vice-coordinator, respectively, with the mission of leading the actions that will help <\/span>define best care practices related to telehealth, such as informed consent and limits on remote work, among others.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Standardization and adoption of best practices are essential elements to ensure quality, safety, efficiency and consistency in the delivery of remote healthcare services. These aspects not only benefit patients by ensuring the best possible care, but also help healthcare organizations operate more effectively and adapt to the changing digital healthcare landscape.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

According to Marco Antonio Viana Miguel, the great challenge of the Clinical Protocols WG will be to update the protocols and the Manual of Good Practices for Digital Health Brazil, keeping up with the speed of changes that have occurred in the sector, including privacy and data security. In addition, the participation of other health professionals in telehealth is growing, which still requires broader alignment to <\/span>ensure that everyone follows consistent protocols during remote services.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we did three years ago in telehealth, we no longer do today. Artificial intelligence and physical examinations, remote patient assessments and diagnostics have evolved, and new opportunities have also emerged. As we often say, it\u2019s 70 years in seven months. Therefore, our challenge is to keep everyone up to date with everything that happens in digital health,\u201d he emphasizes.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Miguel adds that, even in the <\/span>At the height of digital health, there is still a gap in continuing education in the sector. Therefore, supporting this pillar is also a mission of the working group, delivering a learning model that helps professionals who are in the market and also those who are entering, whenever they have questions or difficulties.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cIf we had said when we were in college that we would be doing all the things we do today, people would say we were crazy. Today, we have a huge demand for professionals who have not had any training in digital health and who need to update themselves to provide quality care. SDB ends up being a point of safety for this\u201d, reinforces the executive.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Tocci adds that another important point is to reinforce the need for good practices regarding the proper use of telemedicine so that services not only meet but also exceed established ethical and legal standards, thus ensuring the highest level of care and respect for patients. The goal is to further align SDB member companies with the principles of responsibility, integrity and transparency, working tirelessly to ensure that digital health is a vector for advancement and improvement in healthcare for the population.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to address this issue more diligently, especially due to the request for medical certificates in teleconsultations, which distorts the main objective of the care offered by telemedicine,\u201d he explains.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Marco Antonio Viana Miguel \u2013 coordinator, is an otorhinolaryngologist from the Federal University of S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Unifesp\/Paulista School of Medicine. Postgraduate degree in Hospital Administration and Health Systems (CEAHS) from FGV and Medical Coordinator of Telemedicine at Grupo Fleury \u2013 Digital Emergency Care and Specialty Outpatient Clinic.<\/span><\/p>\n

Flavio Tocci \u2013 Vice-coordinator, graduated in Medicine from the Paulista School of Medicine \/ Federal University of S\u00e3o Paulo, residency in Clinical Medicine and PhD in Sciences (Cardiology) from the Federal University of S\u00e3o Paulo.
