Specialty, which is not yet provided for in the resolution, had a favorable opinion approved unanimously

The plenary session of the Federal Nursing Council (Cofen) unanimously approved, this Monday (26/09), the specialty registration of a nurse who completed a postgraduate degree in Telemedicine and Telehealth. The opinion of the Technical Chamber of Education and Research (CTEP) responded to a query from Coren-RJ about the specialty, which is not yet included in the Resolution 581/2018.

“The decision applies to this professional, but also to those who are in the same conditions and come to request registration,” explains the CTEP/Cofen coordinator, Gilvan Brolini. “There is a demand to review the list of specialties in Resolution 581,” says Brolini, who envisions a future inclusion.

Nursing telecare, initially adopted on an emergency basis during the COVID-19 pandemic, is now a reality that expands access to healthcare in Brazil.

Permanently regulated by Resolution 692/2022, the role of Digital Health Nursing encompasses Nursing Consultation, Interconsultation, Consulting, Monitoring, Health Education and Reception of Spontaneous Demand. Professionals must act in accordance with the General Data Protection Law (LGPD). Issuing prescriptions and requesting exams remotely must be done using an electronic signature.
