Taking a strategic step and demonstrating its commitment to shaping an environment conducive to the development of the digital health sector, Saúde Digital Brasil has just created an internal Government Relations department. The decision to have a more active presence in Brasília, led by Wislas Sousa, who arrives to coordinate the new area, aims to promote a more robust participation in political and regulatory scenarios.

By focusing its activities in this area, the SDB hopes to promote proactive leadership on issues related to digital health before legislators and public bodies. The idea is that this proximity will effectively influence the development and advancement of policies that favor growth and innovation in the sector, in line with the reality, potential and difficulties of the sector. In this way, the creation of the Government Relations area not only reinforces the entity's ability to deal with regulatory challenges, but also creates strategic opportunities to shape an environment favorable to the sustainable and responsible development of digital health in the country.

“This new area and the arrival of Wislas Sousa at SDB represent a significant milestone for the entity and the sector. His remarkable experience and solid track record in the area of government relations bring with them a valuable set of skills and knowledge. We will seek not only to react, but to proactively influence the development of policies”, highlights Michele Alves, executive manager of the entity, who will also be directly involved in this action whose objective is to strengthen SDB’s presence in Brasília.

According to the executive, the creation of the area is also part of SDB's commitment to maintain transparent communication with its members, keeping them informed about changes in the area. Furthermore, to ensure that the actions undertaken are aligned with the needs and expectations of members and the sector, there will be constant interaction and coordination with the working groups. The idea is to strengthen the continued development of the Government Relations area.

Wislas Sousa emphasizes that the main challenges involving government relations include dealing with bold regulations that adapt to technological innovations and allow the free evolution of the sector, balancing diverse interests. Hence the need for an effective advocacy strategy, strategic partnerships, constant dialogue and transparency.
