Sharing the purpose of expanding access to telehealth in Brazil and contributing to a more innovative and accessible future for the sector, the company, which has been operating since 2019 providing technology and clinical operations, is the newest member of the entity.
Believing in the importance of a collaborative approach between governments, healthcare organizations, technology professionals and industry entities to foster the safe, ethical and sustainable growth of digital health, Doutor Ao Vivo decided to join the membership of Saúde Digital Brasil (SDB). The decision was motivated by the synergy of purposes between the company and the entity, focused on consolidating and expanding the reach of telehealth in Brazil and promoting an environment conducive to the development of innovative solutions and the implementation of efficient and safe practices.
Mauren Ginaldo Souza, CEO of Doutor Ao Vivo, explains that since the founding of SDB in 2020, he has observed efforts and actions to regulate, standardize and ensure safety in the practice of telemedicine in the country. According to him, regulatory defenses, manuals of good use practices and market indicators have always been essential references to direct and support the entire telehealth segment in Brazil.
Furthermore, the creation of agendas, working groups and the performance of scientific studies are essential to face the major challenges of the sector, a role that has been played by the SDB as the representative entity of telehealth in the country. “The SDB is a link for discussion and cooperation and a facilitator of the relationship between private and government entities. Its great representation, the work carried out and the search for consolidation of the sector motivated us to join. Thus, we will be able to support and participate more actively in the movement to expand and access digital health in Brazil, contributing to a more innovative and accessible future in the health area, which faces numerous challenges”, reinforces the executive.
Among these main challenges, he cites infrastructure, as many areas of the country still lack internet access, limiting the expansion and effectiveness of digital health services; interoperability and data security, which requires the adoption of standards for the efficient and secure exchange of information between health systems and providers; and technological advances and artificial intelligence, whose massive digitalization drives innovation in the sector, requiring regulatory and ethical support to ensure the safe and effective use of these tools.
Looking to the Future
According to Souza, in light of this scenario, the company has focused its efforts on expanding and broadening its telemedicine journey and recently launched a teleconsultation kiosk that allows for increased access to healthcare by establishing consultation rooms in remote and hard-to-reach locations where traditional medical services are limited. With this device, four essential measurements – temperature, blood pressure, heart rate and oximetry – are taken before the consultation begins, providing a more complete set of information about the patient's health status, enriching the consultation experience for both the patient and the doctor.
The implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve services is also on the company’s radar. “We are exploring ways to integrate AI into patient triage, structuring symptoms to support medical diagnosis. We recognize that AI is a powerful tool that can act as an assistant to healthcare professionals, enriching their knowledge base and supporting case resolution. We are committed to making the most of these innovative technologies to offer even more efficient and personalized care to our patients,” he emphasizes.
With extensive experience in implementing telemedicine in hundreds of companies and various healthcare sectors, Doutor Ao Vivo offers a platform that provides personalized and customized service flows, including emergency care, scheduling, referrals and triage. In addition to technology, it provides 24×7 medical care services, acting in a precise and decisive manner, allowing companies to expand their healthcare offering to patients in an effective and continuous manner.
“Our mission is to expand access to healthcare through digital solutions, ensuring safety and convenience for both doctors and patients. We develop our products to be integrated with other platforms, which is essential in a market with multiple journeys and service channels,” concludes the CEO.
